I just started playing 5200 every night this week and am thoroughly enjoying it. Revisiting classics and realized that Pole Position on the console is really an excellent port. I set aside the 9-10 PM slot for 5200 relaxation. Just realized how hard Jr. Pac Man is on 5200. I played it on teddy bear level and the second and third screens are hard to complete. Too bad they didn't give novices like me longer before the difficulty ramps up. Happy to say I am realizing why the good old 5200 is one of my favorite classic consoles. Now, if my Battlezone port were only somewhat better...

That's a cool idea. I've actually been doing something similar but I've been rotating consoles. One week of Intellivision, one week, 2600, etc.

The 5200 has to be the retro console with the best good to bad ratio for games. The majority of the games are very well done and are good to play. Jr. Pac-Man is a tough game on any system I've played it! It doesn't matter! It just has a frenetic pace with pretty damn smart ghosts!

Good to hear a 5200 story. Keep us posted on other games that still are enjoyable.

I played Qix tonight. I forgot how great of a game this is. Used to waste lots of quarters on it way back when. Realizing how close to arcade the 5200 actually is on games of that generation. Did I say how much I miss the arcades of the 80's?

I mentioned to my wife that I don't know if I have ever scored over 100,000 on Qix, then score 249,741. Wow! I did find that splitting the two qixes is far easier than previously thought, even at later levels. The only trouble with that tact is it doesn't score many points. It does add a multiplier that helps some, but claiming real estate from the qixes is the name of that game.

Definitely a game I will be revisiting again soon.
