Siting - Commodore 128 - Goodwill Marietta, Ga

I saw a Commodore 128 in box at a Goodwill in Marietta, GA on Sutnday. They wanted $200. A bit too much for me.

Wow! That seems high. Are they really going for that much or was this a fluke?

That does seem like a steep price!

The management saw that somebody was trying to sell one on Amazon for $2000 or so and used that to set their price. I hate it when thrift stores try to get high dollar for collectibles. The whole point of thrifting is to find the undiscovered collectible and get a deal. I'd have paid $30 or so, but I can't drop $200. Grrrrrrr . . .

Most stores like that in my area will just put it online and skip the local business. No warranty and it usually looks like someone dropped the item in the mud. Yep, people will line up to buy junk online for crazy prices.

It makes no sense. The C128 is a cool computer but you can do some of the same things with a C64 and at a cheaper price.

Keep looking I am sure one will turn up at a decent price.

Not being an expert, the only reason for getting a 128 instead of a 64 is that there are a few games produced for the 128 only and that attract some collectors. Otherwise you BASICally only use it in 64 mode. (yes it was lame joke in there)
