Hi everyone! My name is Eugenio and I'm new to this forum. I'm own the Atari 2600, 5200, 7800, Lynx, and Jaguar as well as the Vectrex, Intellivision, PSP, and Nintendo DS. Just saying hello!

Good to have you on board. Looks like you like your Atari systems, like me. My favorite is the 5200, with Jaguar a close 2nd. Do you have many sources for good game deals near you?

Hi! Yes I'm primarily an Atari collector but recently have gotten into the Vectrex and the Intellivision. Unfortunately, there aren't any places near me to get stuff. My favorites are the 7800 and the Lynx from Atari. Smile

Thank you for the welcome! Yes, I've been collecting for several years. Of course, I did have a 2600 in the early 80's and then I got a 7800 when in college. I actually gave away the 2600 and ended up buying a 2600Jr years later! Smile Most recently I bought an Intellivision because I just had to try out the new Donkey Kong Arcade for the system. The other system I got last year as the Vectrex and I have been quite impressed with it.

That new Donkey Kong looks amazing! I think the Intellivision is a system that still has a lot to show.

Not only does it look amazing, it sounds amazing too! It is an extremely well done game and the fact that DK2K also introduces new levels is amazing. I wish someone would make a similar effort for the 2600! It really deserves an updated DK also!

Your right about the 2600 DK.

It seems Pac Man has had his share of updates. I wonder why Donkey Kong hasn't?

I really don't know why. As you say, Pac-Man (and even Ms. Pac-Man) have had their share of updates to the point of being as close to arcade perfect as they can be made on the 2600. Pac-Man has 4K, 8K, and 16K versions that are superb on the 2600. For some odd reason, DK just doesn't get the same love...and it truly needs it.

It is nice to see the new version for the Intellivision. Maybe this will kickstart the effort for a new 2600 version.

Maybe. Who knows? It would be fantastic if someone created a 2600 version with all four screens! I mean, if Boulder Dash was possible, I'm sure those same techniques could be applied to an updated DK for the 2600.

I actually thought I could tackle a new VCS DK with Batari Basic, and offered to try on another forum. Unfortunately, attending college and working for the past three plus years took too much of my time. Agree that someone needs to do a better version of VCS Kong, and I may try it when I am through with my degree program.

Good luck with your studies! That's more important right now. Smile
Maybe someone will get it done or, if they don't, maybe you can still give it a try some time. There have been many mockups that I've seen. We just need for someone to make it a reality. Smile
